NADA is partnering with BIA NSW to offer NADA member services the opportunity to undertake four training modules in working with clients who may have an acquired brain injury (ABI).

Recent screening at one NADA member service found over 50% of clients had indicators of mild to severe cognitive impairment demonstrating the extent of this hidden disability in the drug and alcohol sector. These workshops will provide drug and alcohol staff with a range of information and skills to help recognise and work effectively with clients with an ABI.

Members can register for one or all modules, remember that module one (or equivalent) is a pre-requisite for modules 2,3 & 4.  For more information, contact Ciara.

MHCC and NADA invite you to attend a special event in ORANGE NSW- a forum exploring challenges and strategies relating to rural and remote research in the drug and alcohol and mental health sectors.

Forum Aims:

• Rural and remote workers will be better informed about CMHDARN activities.
• Workers have opportunities to learn about current rural and remote research issues pertaining to drug and alcohol and mental health service provision.
• Workers have an improved understanding of how to implement research findings into their practice and the implications for improved service delivery.
• CMHDARN will be better informed about research issues relating to rural and remote workers and member organisations.
• Drug and alcohol and mental health sector workers have an opportunity to network.
