Criminal Justice

Many people with drug and alcohol issues come in contact with prisons, courts or other parts of the criminal justice system.  NADA Workforce Development Programs aim to support NADA members in working with the range of complex issues associated with criminal justice contact.

NO BARS: Supporting Drug and Alcohol Services to Work with Criminal Justice Services

NADA has worked with the Community Restorative Centre NSW to develop an educational and information resource designed to help drug and alcohol services in their work with people who have become involved with the criminal justice system. The NO BARS Project includes a website and training package designed for NSW NGO drug and alcohol services. It explains how this cycle of relapse and reoffending can occur and how drug and alcohol services can work towards supporting individuals to break the cycle.

For more information click here to visit the NO BARS website.

Please visit the NO BARS website resource page for a comprehensive overview of resources related to criminal justice clients.

NO BARS Resources include: Useful Contacts, Research & Publications and Glossary of terms(including prison slang).
