Women's AOD Services Network Meeting
30th May 2013 - Redfern
The third network meeting aimed to reinforce and complete the network governance documents and structure of work. The meeting was also an opportunity to identify the next steps and discussed the development of a proposal to the Department of Health and Ageing to conduct a needs assessment of women's AOD services in NSW. Click here for more information

Emerging Psychoactive Substances Forum 
11 December 2013 - Grace Hotel, Sydney
The forum explored the impacts and responses to emerging psychoactive substances and provided an opportunity to explore the current situation in order to inform best practice, and encourage discussion on what the sector need to do to reduce harm.

Community (re)Integration Forum
3 July 2013 - Parkroyal Darling Harbour, Sydney
The forum provided a platform to respond to the social determinants of health by showcasing best practice in the sector, and encouraging discussion on what the sector need to do to meet the needs of people impacted by problematic substance use.

Workshop - Applied Suicide Intervention and Skills Training (ASIST)
26 & 27 June 2013 - Salvation Army Function Centre, Sydney
The two-day workshop offered practical support to provide suicide first aid to persons at risk of suicide. Participants learnt intervention attitudes and skills to recognise and respond in ways that help increase safety and understand why suicide thoughts are present.

Personality Spectrum Disorders Workshop
29 April 2013 -  Australian Technology Park, Sydney
NADA, in partnership with the Project Air Strategy for Personality Disorders Illawarra Health and Medical Research Institute, presented a one day free workshop on Personality Spectrum Disorders for NADA member services.

Hitting the Right Note! outlined the essential skills to assist managers to assess quality of case note writing principles, including staff training, supervision and policy development & implementation.

Case Notes  Training Workshop
3rd December 2012 - Australian Technology Park
Presented by Turning Point Alcohol and Drug Centre, Take Note! outlined the principles for writing effective, standardised case notes and illustrates how these written records represent a critical component of delivering quality clinical care. The workshop is suitable for alcohol & other drug clinicians, managers and workers with direct client services. The workshop will provide excellent tools to use in your everyday practice.

Assessing the Mental Health Capability of your organisation
3rd Decemeber 2012 - Australian Technology Park

NADA provided a half day forum to explore the use of tools that assess mental health capability in non government drug and alcohol services, and how this links to quality improvement. The forum focused on the use of the Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT), and also explored other tools that can be used to support capacity building and service improvement.
