WHOS (We Help Ourselves) based in NSW and QLD, caters for individuals who are experiencing difficulties with alcohol and other drug dependence. WHOS has two residential programs for individuals on opioid substitution treatment and an onsite dispensing clinic.
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and motivated Registered Nurse to join WHOS multidisciplinary teams in Sydney to be part of our Opioid Treatment Programs (OTP). This is a unique experience to work in an NGO delivering opioid substitution treatment and providing holistic care for individuals within the residential Therapeutic Community programs!
This position is a relief one for the first 12 months and dependent on funding there may be an opportunity to extend.

Remuneration negotiable based on experience and qualifications, equivalent to Public Health rates.


Essential Criteria:
  •  Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA
  • Minimum 2 years working in AOD/ Mental Health fields
  • Demonstrated knowledge and competence of Drug and Alcohol assessment
  • Knowledge of current trends and evidence-based practice in opioid substitution treatment
  • Demonstrated ability to liaise with external agencies
  • Applied knowledge of referral and treatment options for individuals with alcohol and or other drug substance use issues.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with minimal supervision
  • Up to date COVID 19 Vaccinations (WHOS Adheres to the NSW Public Health Order 2021 for COVID 19 Vaccinations)
 - Experience working with individuals on opioid substitution treatment
 - Experience dispensing opioid substitution treatment (OST) in an opioid treatment program (OTP) clinic setting
 - Experience in using electronic dispensing systems
 - Current drivers’ licence
