  • Community Development and project officer roles for culturally and linguistically diverse communities
  • Full Time or Part Time until June 2023 with likely extension

  • 38 Hrs per week (76 Hrs per F/N) / 22.5 Hrs per week (45 Hrs per F/N)
Odyssey has begun providing specialist AOD programs and services to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse individuals and communities, particularly in Western and South Western Sydney. The new program also provides community development and primary prevention as well as research and other sector-wide projects to support reduction of AOD related harms. 
Odyssey NSW is a leading provider of Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment and support in NSW and our Community Programs provide a holistic range of strengths based and recovery-oriented supports to those seeking hope and change in their lives, including Aboriginal specific and parenting programs
Odyssey NSW is seeking innovative and experienced individuals to work as part of a team delivering community development, primary prevention and other projects to support multicultural communities

Requirement

SELECTION CRITERIA:
 - Relevant VET qualification or tertiary qualification in relevant field.
 - Experience working with local communities to achieve shared goals.
 - Experience working with volunteers.
 - Significant experience managing stakeholders and developing networks.
 - Experience developing and implementing activities including community-based activities.
 - Experience working within AOD or another relevant sector.
 - Understanding of the health issues and other complex support needs that affect CALD individuals and communities 
 - Ability to engage with CALD individuals and communities including likely identification as culturally and/or linguistically diverse.
 - Speak language(s) other than English
 - Computer literacy.
 - Demonstrable communication skills including report writing
 - Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment.
 - Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
 - COVID vaccination
