International Women’s Day 2022: Peer and consumer representative work in AOD treatment
The theme for IWD 2022 was ‘Break the bias’ with the day aiming to foster ‘a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. This video shows part of NADA’s IWD event that included a panel discussion lead by Liz Gal (Consumer Consultant/Peer Worker, NEAMI) talking with women with lived experience of AOD use and accessing treatment, and how AOD services can enhance the way they work with women. The panel also featured a discussion with Jacqui Wilkins (CEO, Jarrah House) about their services experience of participating in NADA’s Consumer Engagement Project and completing NADA’s Consumer participation audit tool.
