Profile

The NADA Nurse’s Network was established in acknowledgment of the growing nursing workforce within the non-government AOD sector.

The group is comprised of nurses working within NADA member services, as well as relevant stakeholders and NADA staff.

Purpose

The network:

  • strengthens and maintains relationships between non-government services who are providing nursing support
  • facilitates collaboration and information sharing to strengthen services within the sector
  • improves the capacity of non-government AOD services to identify and respond to medical concerns such as detoxification needs, Hepatitis C screening, overall wellbeing
  • contributes to NADA’s broader aim to reduce the potential for AOD related harm to individuals, families and the community.

The network is currently made of members from WHOS, Lives Lived Well, The Buttery, St Vincents Hospital, Odyssey House, Jarrah House, DANA and the Ministry of Health Centre for Alcohol and Other Drugs. They meet bi-monthly at member services throughout Sydney.
