Description

WHOS New Beginnings is a women’s only AOD residential service, located within the beautiful grounds of Broughton Hall Lilyfield. Information on WHOS services can be found at www.whos.com.au

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic woman to fill this part time AOD Support Worker position.


Remuneration is Negotiable based on qualifications and experience equivalent to SCHADSI Award Level 4.

Salary sacrificing is available.

Requirement

This is a woman’s only position. Being a woman is a genuine occupational qualification under Section 31 of the NSW Anti- Discrimination Act.


Essential:

  • Minimum Certificate IV in AOD/Community Services/Mental Health or relevant qualification
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in working with AOD clients.
  • A desire to work with women and an understanding of their related issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Available to work evening and weekend shifts as required.
  • Commitment to working as part of a team.
  • Computer skills especially with MS Word and Excel
  • Current Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain same

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of the Therapeutic Community model or residential AOD services.
  • Group work skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation.
  • Experience liaising with stakeholders such as GP/medical clinics, withdrawal management services, community services and allied referral agencies
