Ahead of the NSW state election, NADA developed an issues paper to seek commitment from candidates to share our vision for a sustainable and responsive non government alcohol and other drugs sector.
Develop and implement a whole-of-government alcohol and other drugs strategy
Improve access to alcohol and other drug treatment
Attract and develop a sustainable workforce
Implement policies that reduce stigma and discrimination towards people who use drugs
Decisive action is required for the sector to meet service demand and reduce AOD related harms to NSW communities. We look forward to hearing whether they endorse the recommendations highlighted in this paper.
NADA proudly acknowledges the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the custodians of the land on which our office stands. We extend this acknowledgement to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia and pay our respects to Elders past, present and future.
