Employee value proposition
We are excited to share with you, the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Employee Value Proposition (EVP) Guidelines [PDF], developed with people across the AOD workforce.
As you know, growing and strengthening the AOD workforce is critical to meeting the increasing needs of our communities. One way to support this is using consistent, compelling language to promote working in the sector. We heard from AOD staff that communications need to reflect the diversity, inclusivity and strengths-based culture of our workforce, and highlight our impact on the individual and community.
Our AOD EVP statement is:
‘The vibrant and professional team working to improve the health of our communities.’
Our short form statement:
‘We listen to understand, not label’
The EVP is supported by targeted messaging for different workforce groups, and detailed benefits that can be used in recruitment and communications materials.
The EVP Guidelines, including sample job advertisement, were adapted for the NGO sector, in collaboration with our colleagues at Mission Australia. These documents demonstrate how to integrate the EVP messaging within an organisation’s existing communications. We encourage you to use the guidelines to support your organisation’s workforce activities — whether it’s job advertisements, recruitment campaigns, internal communications, or sector promotion.
Video and photography campaign
As part of the broader EVP initiative, NADA worked with the Ministry of Health CAOD, Keyy Productions, as well as fantastic talents working in the NGO sector, to produce a suite of videos and photography.
A massive thanks to our colleagues at The Salvation Army, Mission Australia and Orange Aboriginal Medical Service who gave their time and talent to the production!
These collaterals are now available for you to access for use in your recruitment activities.
Please email Sharon Lee to access the photos and videos, or if you would like support in applying the EVP.
