  • Part-time: Flexibility for 15.2 to 22.8 hours per week (0.4-0.6 FTE) through Monday to Friday
  • 18 month contract
  • Salary range from $90,879 to $95,860 pro rata (depending on experience) + superannuation contribution + eligibility for salary packaging

 

The Network of Alcohol and other Drugs Agencies (NADA) is the peak organisation for non government alcohol and other drugs services in NSW. We advocate for, strengthen and support the sector. As a member driven peak body, NADA’s decisions and actions are informed by the experiences, knowledge and concerns of its membership.

This exciting new identified position for an Aboriginal researcher and/or project manager to play a key role in leading and supporting research to understand the characteristics and outcomes of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples who access non-government alcohol and other drug services in NSW. The position will work closely and be guided by input from the NADA First Nations Research and Data Reference Group. The research activity will also be supported by a team with a range of research experience.

If you have demonstrated experience in research and/or evaluation and/or project management that could be applied in the alcohol and other drugs sector and have strong analytical skills, then we would like to hear from you. The successful candidate for this position will have highly organised administrative skills, possess strong written and verbal communication skills, and have the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and support the development and project management of agreed NADA research and evaluation projects, including contributing to the study design, ethical approvals, consultation, data analysis and write up of publications and dissemination of findings.
  • Supporting non-government alcohol and other drugs services
  • Relationships and partnerships development

Requirement

Selection Criteria

Essential-

  • Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Being an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person is a genuine occupational qualification required to undertake this role under section 14(d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW).
  • Qualification in Indigenous health, public health, epidemiology, or similar related health or social science qualifications
  • Experience in research, evaluation and/or project management in Aboriginal health or broader health and human services field, including consultation and dissemination of research findings
  • Proven ability to work independently and contribute effectively as a team member
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a proven track record in reporting and presenting on research data
  • Excellent computer skills in MS office products, electronic communication, and electronic databases.

Highly desirable-

  • Understanding of the alcohol and other drugs (or broader community services) sector
