Are you able to work flexibly and creatively in a non-traditional public health setting? Then come and join the team at Australia’s first and NSW’s only supervised injecting facility, the Uniting MSIC.

Uniting MSIC is currently recruiting suitably qualified people to join our Health Education team as Health Education Officers in Kings Cross.

Requirement


This is a Part-time/Casual role. Hours may vary: fortnightly roster (M-F 0930-1330, 1330-1800, 1800-2200) Weekends/Public Holidays 0930-1330, 1330-1800).

We are looking for people who have all or most of the following:

  • Demonstrated experience working with people who inject drugs or people with complex trauma.
  • Experience working in needle syringe services, drug and alcohol services, crisis, or accommodation services.
  • A sound understanding of, and commitment to Harm Reduction, Social Justice, and the service delivery model and values of MSIC.
  • A demonstrated adherence to trauma-informed principles of practice and care. 
  • A sound understanding of the health, social, and legal issues related to injecting drug use and marginalised populations.
  • Computer competence including word processing and the use of clinical databases.
  • Qualifications in Welfare or Social Sciences, Social Work, Psychology, Public Health, or equivalent or working towards the same.
