Odyssey NSW has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic and growing Residential Programs team based at Ingleburn on part time basis for a fixed term, that has a high consistency of renewal.

Odyssey NSW is a leading provider of Alcohol and Other Drugs treatment and support in NSW and our Community Programs provide a holistic range of strengths based and recovery-oriented supports to those seeking hope and change in their lives, including Aboriginal specific and parenting programs.

The Residential Programs Medical Unit provides withdrawal management (detox) support as well as support for primary health, chronic disease management, mental health, and a range of other areas. The Medical Unit operates as part of a larger Residential Program that delivers short- and long-term residential treatment and the Family Recovery Centre at the Eagle Vale and Ingleburn campuses of our Residential Programs.

Odyssey NSW is seeking an innovative and experienced individual to work as part of a team delivering high quality medical care.

  • Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse as per registration with AHPRA
  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in primary health assessment and management of patients with complex health needs. 5 years post-graduation preferable, but not limited too.
  • Demonstrate nursing experience and knowledge of working with people with significant AOD and/or Mental Health issues preferable/desirable.
  • Demonstrate ability of community nursing experience including case management, group facilitation and/or health promotion preferable/desirable
  • Demonstrate ability of community nursing experience including case management, group facilitation and/or health promotion preferable/desirable.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills including verbal and written reporting when liai\sing experience working within multidisciplinary team a non-government AOD or other similar service preferable/desirable.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of computer literacy including electronic documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and to work effectively within collaborative team environment.
  • Hold a current NSW Driver's License
  • Hold or have the ability to obtain a current Criminal History Check, less than 12 months old.
  • Hold a current Working With Children clearance for paid employment.
  • Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
