We Help Ourselves (WHOS) provides a range of alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment programs in NSW and Queensland, information on these services can be found at www.whos.com.au
WHOS Hunter residential service provides evidence based, trauma informed, compassionate and inclusive services to people experiencing issues related to their use of AOD.
Are you a Registered Nurse with knowledge of Alcohol and other Drug, Mental Health or Community Health fields?
Are you interested in being part of the WHOS Hunter team providing health care support in the residential AOD therapeutic community program located at Cessnock NSW?
If so, you would be working with the AOD team to provide initial health, AOD and mental health assessments for clients. You would also liaise with our GP and allied health providers to meet the needs of clients.
This is an opportunity to make a valuable contribution to the lives of vulnerable and marginalised people, by providing:
- General health assessments for new admission
- Managing medical appointments with local GPs and allied health providers
- Medication management in partnership with our nominated pharmacy
- Supervise self-administration of medications
Requirement
- Current registration with AHPRA
- Current drivers’ licence
- Experience in or knowledge of mental health and/or drug and alcohol treatments
- Willing to provide a current National Police Clearance
- Knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approaches
