An exciting new opportunity is available for a Community Access Coordinator to join the Kedesh team at our site in Berkeley, Illawarra.

The role is responsible for overseeing the timely and effective admission of clients to the Kedesh Rehabilitation Service (KRS) and responsible for screening individuals' eligibility into treatment via coordinating the admission to a suitable treatment episode of care. 

You will be the initial point of contact for clients and therefore must be able to listen to and understand the complex situations surrounding our clients by prioritising their needs with a client centred approach. You will be responsible for triaging and case managing clients from the point of their initial contact until admitted, as well as assessing Mental Health stability and risk. You will have experience in using clinical judgement by means of brief interventions, counselling, harm minimisation strategies, general case management and liaising with other AOD services.

The role includes part-time hours available on a fixed term contract within the Community Access team. You will be remunerated in accordance with the SCHADS Award, based on skills and experience.

Requirement


Qualifications:

Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline (such as, Counselling, Social Work, Psychology, Cert. IV AOD, or Community Services Diploma – AOD).

Essential skills for position:

  • Minimum two years’ experience in a Drug and Alcohol treatment program
  • Demonstrated planning, organisation, and time management skills
  • High quality customer service skills
  • Highly developed listening and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to network with various organisations and other professionals
  • A demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Continuous Quality Improvement
  • Understanding of Microsoft applications including Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Administration and record management experience
  • An understanding of Work Health and Safety requirements
  • Current Class C drivers’ licence


Desirable skills for position:

  • CBT and DBT treatment modality knowledge
  • SMART Facilitator Training
  • First Aid & CPR Certificate
