Description

We Help Ourselves (WHOS) provides a range of alcohol and other drug (AOD) treatment programs in NSW and Queensland. Information on WHOS services can be found at www.whos.com.au

WHOS Hunter residential service located in Cessnock, provides evidence based, trauma informed, compassionate and inclusive treatment services to people experiencing issues related to their use of AOD.

This is an opportunity to use your skills, knowledge, expertise and compassion to support people experiencing substance dependence within an evidence based, trauma informed, compassionate and inclusive service.

Are you experienced, enthusiastic and motivated to support people on their journey of personal growth whilst incorporating a harm minimisation and co-existing mental health approach.


Requirement

If so, you will be experienced in or have knowledge of:

  • AOD assessment and referral processes.
  • The provision of AOD education
  • Supervising and supporting clients in a residential setting
  • Facilitation of groups
  • Working with clients that have substance dependence and associated issues
  • The use of electronic client file and data management
  • Administration and written communication skills


How to apply?

  • Minimum Certificate IV in Community Services or other relevant qualifications.
  • Experience working in AOD, mental health or a related field
  • Knowledge of AOD Harm Reduction approaches
  • Availability to work shiftwork, including evenings and weekends (note: evening shift includes a sleepover).
  • Sound written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy, using electronic client file and data management systems and Microsoft 365
  • Current First Aid Certificate
  • Current driver's license
  • Right to work in Australia and be willing to provide a current National Police Check.

Remuneration

SCHADSI Award Level 4. Pay Point based on qualifications and experience.
