Background
Young people who access AOD treatment are a diverse, vulnerable and complex population. The Health of Children and Young People in NSW Report indicates that for those young people experiencing problems with alcohol use rates of emergency department visits have remained high for 15-24 year olds. More specifically, alcohol-attributable hospitalisations are highest among young males, young Aboriginal people and young people living in more remote and lower socioeconomic status areas.
One strategy of the Youth AOD Services Network is better promotion of the work of services to young people and their families, service providers, and the broader community.

This resource provides an overview of the network, specialist non government youth services providing AOD services in NSW. It includes an overview of the network and its achievements, brief profiles of the members, and a map of where the organisations are located across NSW.
‘Supporting young people with alcohol and other drug issues’ was developed by NADA, in partnership with the Youth AOD Services Network.
