Asking sensitive questions: Considering the consumer perspective
Creating a safe and comfortable space for clients when they seek treatment is essential. One of the most important considerations is how to engage clients when they are sharing sensitive information about themselves. Asking sensitive questions is core to the work of clinicians and AOD workers, as this guarantees clients receive the best care planning possible. In this short video Trinka Kent, NADA’s consumer engagement project coordinator, along with three people with lived experience, share their experiences and give advice on how to broach difficult topics with clients.
